The recent Maples renovation focused on preserving the course’s classic design while improving overall playability, conditioning, and consistency throughout the round. Rebuilt greens, improved drainage, updated bunkers, expanded natural areas, and enhanced turf conditions create a cleaner, more enjoyable experience that still feels unmistakably like Maples.

Check-in and Bag Drop

Check-In Location: Please check in at the Golf Shop inside the Jones Byrd Clubhouse. (75 Clubhouse Rd., Sunset Beach, NC)

Bag Drop: A designated “Maples Bag Drop” will be located is under the main portico, where you can leave your clubs.

Shuttle Service: After check-in, our brand-new luxury 15-passenger shuttle vans will transport you to the Maples Course.

On Arrival: At the course, your clubs will be loaded onto a golf cart, and you’ll be ready to start your round.

After Your Round: Shuttle vans will return you to the Jones Byrd Clubhouse. We invite you to stop by Sunset Prime for the best 19th-hole experience in the area.
Food & Beverage while playing the Byrd Course is provided at the locations listed below in addition to our Beverage Cart Services.

Cart Information
The Maples course features brand-new state-of-the-art Club Car Golf Carts equipped with Visage GPS and Bluetooth technology.
During the restoration of the Maples course, the cart path were removed. Guests are now able to drive through all natural waste areas and designated paths. The golf carts will implement daily course rules.
Club Rentals
Men’s and Ladies TaylorMade rental sets are available for $65 per round and include two sleeves of golf balls. Advance reservations are recommended through the Golf Shop.
