Wine & Author Event with Dr. Sheryl Kennedy
April 14 @ 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm
$30

Join us for a delightful evening of wine and words. Meet Dr. Sheryl Kennedy, author of “Angela’s Babies,” as you sip wine and discuss her memoir.
All attendees will receive a copy of “Angela’s Babies” and a complimentary glass of wine.
Angela’s Babies is set in the context of nine biological siblings staying at Sheryl’s home when the oldest sister, Lynn, experienced a catastrophic medical emergency. The gathering of these adult siblings, fifteen years after their mother’s death from cancer and eighteen years after their father’s incarceration for murder, leads to the story-telling of Sheryl’s unique relationship with their mother, Angela, and her children. It explores Sheryl’s experience adopting her daughter, Karissa, and how trauma affected all of the siblings as they navigated life as a child of Angela.
This story is a gripping, honest look at a family living in the chaos of poverty and addiction, the challenges of adopting a foster child, the real consequences of childhood trauma, and a celebration of those who survive and thrive in spite of it all. It is a personal faith story and a witness of that journey.
