Sea Trail Golf Resort is thrilled to announce a major renovation project for the Dan Maples course will begin Monday, May 19, 2025. The course will close following play on Sunday, May 18, to begin Phase One of a comprehensive transformation designed to elevate the player experience and enhance the overall character of the course.
This renovation project is a significant milestone in the ongoing investment in Sea Trail’s future and reflects ownership’s strong commitment to revitalizing the property. The planned updates for the Maples Course include:
- A full greens renovation, featuring new TifEagle Bermuda greens with Tahoma 31 collars.
- Internal layout enhancements with the addition of new and expanded waste bunkers and natural areas, reflecting the style introduced on Hole 8 this past spring.
- A unique fairway-cut design throughout the course.
- Installation of new irrigation heads to support turf health and consistent course conditions.
- Extensive landscape beautification and maintenance throughout the course.
- Brand new course signage, as well as new bunker-rakes, flagsticks, flags, cups, and tee markers.
In conjunction with the course renovation, the Maples Clubhouse will also close starting May 19 until further notice. Weather permitting, the renovation is scheduled for completion by early September 2025, with updates to be shared throughout the process.
“This project marks a new era for the Maples Course and is a major step forward in our mission to provide a premier golf destination on the Carolina Coast,” said Mike Buccerone, President of East Coast Golf Management. “This renovation will bring a fresh, modern layout that enhances playability while embracing the course’s natural beauty. By incorporating more waste bunkers and native areas, we’re creating a unique and challenging design that offers something truly different — and a lot of fun — for golfers of all skill levels.”
